We come to the car
Collection from Cambridge to the Fens
A vehicle on a village drive needs different planning from one in a controlled city-centre car park. We collect across Cambridgeshire from our Medway base, with the appointment and access agreed in advance. This is a collection service, not a local showroom you need to visit.
Cambridge and South Cambridgeshire
We cover Cambridge, Histon, Waterbeach, Cambourne, Sawston and nearby villages. At a workplace, college or shared development, identify the correct entrance and arrange permission for the car to be handed over.
Ely, Soham and Fenland
Collections include Ely, Soham, Littleport, Chatteris, March, Wisbech and Whittlesey. If the Jaguar is in an outbuilding or behind a property, send directions to its actual position and describe the ground and approach.
Huntingdon, St Ives and St Neots
We also collect in Huntingdon, Godmanchester, St Ives, St Neots and surrounding villages. For a car at a repairer or storage site, confirm opening hours, release permission and any deadline before booking.
A Jaguar that has been standing can still be sold
Perhaps the repair was put off, the MOT expired, or the car stayed parked after you bought its replacement. You can ask for a valuation without first paying to make it driveable. Tell us when it last ran and what caused it to be parked. If the original fault is unknown, say so rather than guessing.
The current condition matters too. Let us know about flat tyres, a flat battery, missing keys, wheels that will not turn or parts that have been taken off. Include photographs of the outside, interior and any visible damage. We use those details to assess both the offer and how the car can be collected.
We buy older X-Type and S-Type cars as well as the XE, XF, XJ, F-Pace, E-Pace and I-Pace. Age, mileage or time off the road alone does not provide a reliable price. The condition of the whole Jaguar and the work it needs are part of the assessment.
Engine trouble, gearbox faults or a failed MOT?
You do not need to describe yourself as a mechanic to request an offer. Tell us what you noticed: whether the engine starts, whether the car moves, what the dashboard says and whether a garage has inspected it. A photograph of a written report is more useful than choosing an expensive-sounding fault from an internet search.
We consider timing-chain concerns, loss of drive, DPF and AdBlue warnings, suspension faults and accident damage. If there is already a repair estimate, compare its full scope with an offer for the car as it is. Check whether diagnostic work, VAT and any further work are included before deciding to repair.
For an I-Pace with a battery or charging issue, check any relevant manufacturer recall or warranty route before committing to a sale. Tell us about outstanding campaigns and any handling instructions you have received. A fault does not automatically mean the owner must pay for the entire repair.
- Engine failures and cars that will not start
- Gearbox faults and restricted performance
- MOT failures, body damage and incomplete repairs
- Electric Jaguars with charging or battery concerns
Plan the pickup around the place the car is parked
In Cambridge's historic centre, vehicle access and loading are restricted on some streets. Give us the address, the entrance used to reach the car and any arrangements with a building manager. The county council's current access guidance is linked below. Collection does not automatically create an exemption from traffic or loading restrictions.
For a rural collection around Ely, March or the Huntingdonshire villages, a postal address may cover more than one entrance. Explain whether the vehicle is on a firm driveway, loose ground or inside a building. Tell us about narrow gateways, low roofs and anything parked in front of it. Photographs of the approach can help us plan.
Describe whether the steering moves and whether the Jaguar can be put into neutral. We confirm suitable collection arrangements before travelling; do not tow it to the roadside or force a parking-brake release to prepare it. If a garage holds the car, agree its release and settle its own charges separately.
Selling a SORN Jaguar without another road journey
A SORN declaration is not a barrier to asking for an offer. Keep the vehicle off the public road and arrange collection; a journey to a buyer is not the pre-booked testing exception described in GOV.UK's SORN guidance. There is no need to tax the car simply for us to collect it.
Before handover, gather the keys, available V5C and any service or repair records. Tell us early if the logbook is missing or you need to retain a private registration. If the Jaguar is on finance, check the agreement and the lender's requirements before agreeing to sell; do not assume we can settle it for you.
Confirm the accepted offer, check that the bank transfer has cleared and keep the sale receipt. Make sure DVLA has been notified and retain its confirmation. Collection is free, and the valuation carries no obligation. Any material difference from the condition you described should be discussed before the car leaves.
Your offer, collection and payment
1. Tell us about the Jaguar
Send the vehicle details and describe any faults, damage or missing items. The valuation is free and you decide whether to accept.
2. Agree the collection
We confirm the location, access and vehicle condition before arranging collection. Tell us if it cannot roll, steer or be put into neutral.
3. Check payment and paperwork
Payment is by secure bank transfer on collection day, cleared before the car leaves. Keep your sale receipt and DVLA confirmation.
We arrange free collection across Cambridge, South Cambridgeshire, Ely and East Cambridgeshire, Huntingdonshire and Fenland. This includes Huntingdon, St Neots, St Ives, March and Wisbech. Give us the vehicle's full collection address when enquiring.
